Students will learn theater, stage and acting basics and prepare two productions given at the end of each semester. Musicals, comedies, dramas and collective pieces may be presented and are determined each semester. Due to the small amount of time this class may have up to four extra practices per semester and everything will be done to accommodate reasonable scheduling. Group and individual performances may be required. Homework will consist of memorization, character analysis and some aspect of behind the scenes theater work (props, costumes, publicity, etc.). Supply fee covers scripts, royalty fees, costumes, sets, props, etc.

Students who participate in Readers Theater have shown to be more excited and enthusiastic about reading than their counterparts. In this class, students will develop scripts, create sets, and perform stories. Through these techniques, students will further develop their fluency, accuracy, and comprehension skills. The supply fee will cover art supplies, construction materials and fabrics for sets and costumes.
