This class is a loosely structured fun class learning beginning Spanish. Concentration will be on vocabulary rather than grammar. Songs, storybooks, and other hands-on assignments will be used to reinforce the lessons. Once vocabulary is learned, it will be put together to make simple sentences and phrases. Numbers, colors, animals, adjectives, body parts, and clothing, are examples of vocabulary to be learned.   Each week a different Spanish-speaking country will be studied and their culture discussed.   Students will be expected to be able to place these countries on a blank map along with their capitols by the end of the year as well as knowing basic cultural facts about the countries.  Some small crafts from the country may be made and recipes of typical foods will be passed out.  At the end of each semester we will have a feast to taste some of the typical foods. Students may be added mid-year.
