Summary of 1.23.07 Graduation Meeting

 

1. Applications for new families

  • Applications were given to two new families, the Goyer’s and the Kopp’s

2. Jostens (Graduation Services) has moved

  • The new address is 9242 South Sheridan, Suite I (letter I, this is a correction from the orginal 1 that was reported at the meeting)

  • ALL CHECKS FOR JOSTENS MERCHANDISE SHOULD BE WRITTEN AND DELIVERED TO JOSTENS.

3. Location: Garnett Road Church of Christ

4. Verse: Psalm 20:4 (NKJ) “May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.”

5. Yearbook photos:

  • The January meeting was the last time for non-CTC students to place an ad in the yearbook.

6. Photographer (Aaron Steele):

  • The students and parents were presented with 3 options for their graduation pictures:
    • (Plan A) $15.00 (8x10 group, 5x7 individual with diploma)
    • (Plan B) $10.00 (8x10 group)
    • (Plan C) $8.00 (5x7 group)
  • After a discussion, the unanimous decision was made for Plan A, $15.00

7. Committee reports:

  • Program Committee:
    1. The date has been confirmed and the contract is being worked on.
    2. The guest speaker is not confirmed.
    3. A request for student speakers was made. Stefan Merciez, Grace Helm, Miranda Thompson, Jasmine Karlebach and Danielle Houston expressed interest. These graduates (and any other graduate that is interested) are encouraged to submit a written speech for consideration. Please get the written speech to Becky Wilson by Thursday, Feb. 22.
    4. The committee would like for some students to volunteer to do music for graduation. Please contact Becky Wilson by Thursday, Feb. 22 if you are interested in sharing your musical talent or any other talent at the graduation ceremony.
    5. It is being discussed how to use a color guard in the ceremony, and who would do the color guard.
  • Families can donate extra money to help with the graduation and all donations are tax deductible.
  • Activities Committee: All seniors attending the meeting met with Mrs. Mason for games and plans for the remainder of the year.
  • Reception Committee:
    1. The committee will be sending out an email to get an approximate number of attendance from each family at graduation.
    2. Other decisions on punch and food are still pending.

8. Budget Report:

  • The group voted to purchase and produce a MEMORY BOOK, with each family participating at the cost of $15.00/book. The students will put together their pages at a senior event.
  • The Rook family will send out an email to inform each family on what to bring to create their page.

9. After discussing the budget and allowing for all anticipated expenses, the payment for the February meeting was calculated at $10.00/GRADUATE. This will be the last payment.

10. Information was given to the communication committee regarding the spelling of the seniors name for the DIPLOMA and the name of their school. CTC can’t be used on the diploma. All information not received at the meeting for the diploma should be emailed to Susan Helm at ussmom @ aol.com.

11. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6:30pm
